Hit and Run: 3 Useless Things

Having a little trouble catching up from the holiday week, so I decided to do a bit of a Hit and Run filled with useless, yet very interesting facts (at least I found them to be).  More after the jump – hope everyone had a delightful football-filled turkey day!

1. The Knicks are not only a 500 team as of right now (9-9), but they have won 6 of their last 7 games

Yes I know it’s early, but I found that factoid to be pretty impressive considering their track record.  These 6 wins include Sunday’s 125-116 double overtime victory over the Pistons.  Keep it going, Knickerbockers!

2. Steve Johnson of the Buffalo Bills is a passionate Tweeter/Twitterer/what have you

Yes, of COURSE I was going to whine about the Bills 16-19 overtime loss to the Steelers yesterday – this is their fourth loss by 3 points this season.  But poor Steve Johnson definitely took his dropped pass (that would have been a game winner) a little hard, and tweeted the following:

“I PRAISE YOU 24/7!!!!!! AND THIS HOW YOU DO ME!!!!! YOU EXPECT ME TO LEARN FROM THIS??? HOW???!!! ILL NEVER FORGET THIS!! EVER!!! THX THO…”

He later retracted, as I’m sure he caught a lot of crap from people who misunderstood his initial tweet.  And everyone knows that I love Steve, especially after that Cinci game.  But maybe we should take a breather before picking up the iPad right after a tough loss and think it out before we type it out.  Just like emails, the Tweets cannot be unsaid, Stevie.

3.  Is it just me, or does Ken Whisenhunt slightly remind anyone else of Kody Brown from Sister Wives?

I know poor Ken has been through a lot with this evening’s 6-27 at-home loss to the somewhat terrible 49ers (sorry Pants) and I know he’s been compared to everyone from Ed Harris to Woody Harrelson, but I couldn’t help but notice during tonight’s game that he carries a bit of a resemblance to America’s favorite polygamist Kody Brown from TLC’s Sister Wives.  Maybe I’m crazy, but I’m seeing it at this midnight hour for sure…

  1. I am proud to say this is the first time I’ve ever seen the guy from “Sister Wives”. I avoid reality TV like the plague, although I did watch a online clip of “Sarah Palin’s Alaska” out of morbid curiosity. Remember when TLC was cool?
