So the crappy economy has really hit home for the first time in my life. I’ve always been a blissfully unaware student, wrapped in a cocoon of student loans and my parents money. But now, when I am finally at the stage where I need to find a job and start my career, the job market is majorly sucko. So after a semsester of interviews ending in polite (or not so polite) rejection letters and career services giving us depressingly cheerful “umm something will work out” talks something FINALLY went right. I got accepted to an LLM program at the University of Manchester!
Now this isn’t the 6 figure salary paying law job that I had been hoping for BUT it is a “yes”, and in my sea of “no”, it was much needed. Now I’m sure you’re wondering, “what the heck does this have to do with sports?” Well, Manchester is home to a little known football team Manchester United, of which I am becoming a rather big fan. And so come March, I will mourn the loss of my beloved Tarheel student basketball tickets, but in September I will rejoice in the chance to watch football IN PERSON, not on crappy Fox Soccer Channel. Today I shall welcome the new boys into my life, while saying goodbye to the hotties who have made these last 2.5 years so damn fun!
So wont you join me and…
Say Olá to:
Cristiano Ronaldo
And Goodbye to:
Tyler Hansbrough
Здраво: (yes that is Serbian for hello, or so says my Iphone translator…)
Nemanja Vidic
So long,
Danny Green
Top of the mornin’,
John O’Shea
Don’t leave me!:
Wayne Ellington
Здрасти (Hello, in Bulgarian) to:
Dimitar Berbatov
Auf Wiedersehen (he’s not German, but I like that word):
Marcus Ginyard
Olá (in a Brazilian accent):
Rafael Da Silva
And the hottie I will miss the most, (even more than my future baby daddy Tyler Hansbrough):
ROY WILLIAMS!
Carolina has given me some beautiful men and amazing memories, here’s hoping the boys at Old Trafford are going to do the same!
I am absolutly using that “it’s not stalking” line. Also congratulations on getting in to whatever the LLM program is.
Congrats on the job!
It’s actually a masters in law.. MORE SCHOOL! I’m turning into the perpetual student. But I suppose it’s worth it if at each new school I get to have a sports team packed with hotties in my backyard!
Oh and thanks :)
Holy crap that’s awsome! Not so much that it’s Manchester (though they are lovely) but an excuse to move overseas! I am so jealous! :)

Not to be nosy, but what are you wanting to do with your degrees in law, mistresschristina? And whatever will you do with yourself when you’re not in the great state of North Carolina?
Congrats – that will be awesome to see EPL games in person!!
@Courtney – The hope is to be a lawyer. I would like to do that this next fall after I graduate but the current economic crap-fest has lead me to search out backup plans, try and wait for the job of my dreams.
Congrats! I’ve heard about some really great opportunities that are available with a J.D. and an L.L.M., especially in the international field.
By the way, were you at the game tonight? Hope Z’s alright!
That’s awesome. I wish you the very best of luck, Mistresschristina!
@H, I had awesome seats. Ugh the rumor is he broke his wrist! I’m so bummed. I think Zeller is going to be AWESOME with a little more experience. Hansbrough needs to be uninjured and get his cute butt off the bench!
I agree with that, I was half-expecting Hansbrough to jump off the bench right after Z got hurt, and rip off his suit to reveal his uniform and jump into the game!
Yeah, and I also think if Hansbrough’s on the bench, he should take a cue from Marcus and wear a nice collared shirt and tie… :)
This is very up-to-date information. I think I’ll share it on Digg.
