Three Day Weekend Sports Extravaganza!

With apologies to the Canadian residents among us, we are standing at the brink of not just a three day weekend, but a three day weekend of potentially epic sporting events. This includes at least one (and possibly two) Rangers-Devils playoff games, which means there is a Henrik Lundqvist picture in this post! Come look at the games you can stay up late to watch and not have to worry about being groggy at work the next day.

NHL Eastern Conference Finals Game 6, 8 pm est

The Devils lead 3-2, after a wild game 5.  We have been here before. (Also, holy crap that was 18 years ago?)

A goofy Patrick Elias and a texting Zach Parise flank Danius Zubrus, who should have been brought to my attention LONG ago.

NBA Eastern Conference Semifinals Game 7, 8 pm Est

The always resilient Celtics battle the surprisingly tough 76ers, although I still can’t watch this series without thinking the Knicks would have been much better off with the 8 seed after all.

Paul Pierce, who I love inexplicably.

Rondo and the absolutely adorable Jrue Holiday

Andre Iguodala

The 96th Indianapolis 500, noon Est

Lots of turmoil surrounds this year’s race, not least of which is the fact that the new Indy Car has never been race tested on an oval track race of this length. So that should be interesting.

Dario Franchitti (Mr. Ashley Judd), shown here wearing white sunglasses as a tribute to Dan Wheldon, last year’s Indy 500 winner, who died in a crash last fall.

Raven saw Ryan Hunter-Reay at the Baltimore Grand Prix last year. Lucky girl!

Also, we may have Game 7 of the NHL Eastern Finals Sunday as well, pending tonight’s results. And there’s always baseball!

Enjoy your weekend!
