Advent Calendar of Hotness – Day 1

It truly is the most wonderful time of the year dear readers… the decorations, the songs, the presents, the merriment, the football games… THE LADIES… ADVENT CALENDAR OF HOTNESS!

Yes, join us here everyday as we bring you a yummy little treat to brighten your days.  It’s the holidays – done the Ladies… way!

For me, there can be but one man to kick-off the ACOH… The man putting it down for my Brownies… the one… the only… Peyton Hillis!

I could have dedicated the entire post to just the biceps – but why deny you the rest of him?

Friday Foodie: Hot Reuben Dip, Spicy Micheladas and Oh Yeah… Yankee Lovin!

resized_WS27611050511

So that happened… my boys in pinstripes won the World Series, Godzilla took home the MVP and all is right with the world.  It’s a bitter sweet feeling, harassing Sox fans since just hasn’t had the same feel.  Is it spring training yet???

But not to worry, I hopped in the kitchen, thought about football and got right back in the swing of things.

So today I bring you another delectable treat, perfect for your tail-gaiting and football spreads!

Are you ready for some football?

Earlier this week, The Ladies…held their fantasy football league draft. I couldn’t make it, as I was busy shoveling fondue into my face at dinner with my lovely husband. I let the drafting system autodraft my team, and…let’s just say that I don’t suggest doing that. Somehow I have six quarterbacks (if you can call Kyle Orton a quarterback at this point, which I don’t) and one defense. The fact that said defense is Miami is making me consider spending the entirety of the season drinking heavily, because I am so screwed.

Lesson learned: Draft your fantasy football team first. Then celebrate your wedding anniversary.

Anyway, we here at The Ladies… wouldn’t be The Ladies… if we didn’t bring you a little objectfication along with your football. We decided to pick the hottest members of our own teams, and to bring some lovely photographic evidence to you. You know, because we care. Abs, sweat, and football hotness after the jump.

Friday Football Foodie – The Sunday After Thanksgiving

045

Okay, this should have been up on Friday. But I figured who wants to eat much the day after Thanksgiving? Instead, I’m here to show you today how to make a patty melt and vanilla ice cream shake. Warning – you will need an ice cream maker for this … but you still have time to ask for one for Christmas, right? If you’re like me, and not feeling very well because you’re still recovering from the first winter cold of the season, you’ll get your sweetie to make these dishes. And be patient when you click to view on – the pics take a bit of time to load, but are well worth it.

The Other NCAA Tournament

In all the hoopla surrounding the NCAA Mens Basketball Tournament brackets (Siena Elite 8, you heard it here first!), there is another bracket that was released last night:  the NCAA Mens Wrestling Tournament, which takes place in St. Louis March 20th-22nd.  Between Iowa, Iowa State and UNI my state has 28 wrestlers competing; Iowa is missing a wrestler at 197 and UNI is missing a heavyweight.  But that’s still a lot of muscles…in spandex…rolling around….*shake* I’m back.  I’m pretty pumped about it, so here are some wrestling hotties:

Hump Day Hottie Hit and Run: Pro Bowl Edition

There are a number of different ways I could go with today’s Hit and Run. I could talk about Danny Haren’s “Hi, I’m a D-back now” press conference,

or The Great One’s Phoenix Coyotes clowning my Flyers, or Shaun White being cited for setting off a fire extinguisher in a hotel while he was drunk (and really, who among us hasn’t done that?) or The Rocket vehmently denying the claims in the Mitchell report that he used The Steroids, but since the 2008 Pro Bowl rosters were announced yesterday, let’s take an in-depth look at the hotties who’ll be getting a free trip to Hawaii this February.

Friday Football Foodie – Dave’s Hot Beef Dip, Kahlua and Coffee, and Salt & Pepper Pita Chips

This week’s Friday Football Foodie dish was submitted by Dave’s Football Blog, home to anything foot and ball. Soccer of every color and stripe, rugby, Aussie rules, CFL, and of course, American gridiron. (Dave also runs a chill music podcast over at Dave’s Lounge, which I highly recommend.)

Dave first posted the recipe for the Hot Beef Dip back for Super Bowl XL – predicting a Steelers’ win, naturally – but this recipe is really too good to wait for a special event game, especially as we head into fall and heartier football snacking.

You will need…
