The 2010 Sweet 16 – Now With Captions!

So like many of us, I spent the weekend watching some college teams duke it out. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get my sh*t together and submit a bracket on time.  So in true lady form, I’d like to list my predictions for this coming week’s Sweet 16 winners taking us to the Elite 8, in beloved Lolcat caption form.

(I’d like to add a congrats to my alma mater – Women’s Basketball at University of Rochester made it to the Final Four!!)

Flamin’ Friday: Caption This!

(REUTERS/Paul Darrow)

I would love to know, Sidney, how it was you were able to run through the streets of Halifax gripping an Olympic Torch with those mittens!  Because I’m thinking there’s more practical handwear for that kind of activity out there.

Just a thought.

It’s Friday! Here’s hoping you’re not spending it in a movie theatre line getting tickets for New Moon.

QB crush? Caption this!

Matt & Kurt

Is that Matt's hand on Kurt's...?! (Photo: Getty Images)

It’s Week 8 of the NFL, readers! I was going to choose a picture of our favourite douchewaffle in celebration of his upcoming visit to Lambeau, when I found…this. It’s a couple of weeks old, but hey, you need something to do before donning your Balloon Boy outfit to go pumpkin sacrificing. Happy weekend!

Surprise, Surprise

Since Monday is almost over and your writer is way under the weather, I’ve decided to go with one of my favorite things to do – CAPTION THAT PHOTO!!

The defending World Series champs just took the NLDS in 4 games moments ago, defeating the Rockies 5-4 after a .  This brings to question the possibility of a Mets fan’s worst nightmare: a Yankees vs. Phillies World Series, but it also made for some incredibly interesting photos to caption.  Take your pick from either the title pic or the choices after the break in congratulations to the postseason victors and have fun!

Ochocinco To The Rescue!

Ochocinco

I know it’s just preseason, but come on. Last night, stand-in kicker Chad ‘Ochocinco’ Johnson delivered on an extra point in the 2nd quarter which gave the Bengals that one point edge over the Patriots and eventually led them to a one point victory.

In light of last night’s ridiculousness, I just HAD to post this photo (thanks KJ) and open it up for Write Your Own Caption.

Have at him!

Mr. Monday: Got Melky?

Melky's the man

While I’m not a huge Melky fan and never have been, I am still a Yankees fan and one has to admit that he was mighty impressive yesterday in their 8-5 victory over the Chicago White Sox. After seeing the highlights (because I’d apparently rather spend my Sunday in a muddy park in NJ listening to bands instead of watching my Mets lose and the Yanks finally win), something was brought to my attention which I admittedly never knew had a technical term: the cycle. Write Your Own Caption: All-Star Edition

Thanks to everyone who participated in our All-Star Game Liveblog! Here’s a highlight:
samerochocinco: what if there was a bench-clearing brawl during the ASG game?
Rockabye: Hits For Hunger seems like a nice way to refer to beating up soup kitchen visitors.
samerochocinco: great or greatest ASG if that happened?
Games Mistress: That would be AWESOME.
Raven: GREATEST!
thistlewarrior: greatest.
Lady Bee: I’d be down with that
hawing: I’d want to see who was taken out before judging.
CuteSports: Dude, the AL would have no chance!
hawing: Prince could probably just move around and take people out.
samerochocinco: dustin pedroia would leave his pregnant wife to deck shane victorino
Games Mistress: True the NL does have a size advantage.
CuteSports: Ryan Howard – Prince Fielder – Yadi – Pujols?
Raven: tis the roids Continue reading

Write Your Own Caption: Red Sox Edition

Crane here, filling in for CuteSports. I apologize for the lateness of the hour, but hey, where I am, it’s technically still morning. This is what the Red Sox get for keeping the Blue Jays in third place over the weekend: You get to make fun of them!

Observe David Ortiz, who probably is reminding himself that the world is just illusion, trying to change him:

Write Your Own Caption: Yankees Edition

Good morning. No hotness at the moment, just hilarity.

If the Yankees lose and the Red Sox lose and the Blue Jays win, then I’ll be happy. I would like to see the Yankees lose on a walkoff single given up by whoever the hell their closer is today (seriously, guys, your bullpen’s broken), I would like to see the Red Sox give up 102389798798639 runs, and I would like to see the Blue Jays win by a reasonable score of about 5-1 (no, I don’t mind if Jesse Carlson gives up a solo shot or something).

Observe this photo, in which Phil Coke and Hideki Matsui do something that needs to be captioned:

Have at it.
