Advent Calendar of Hotness 2011: Day 5

Well hello there! So sorry for my absence – I have missed reporting on the status of my beloved Bills and ogling gents across multiple sport lines to an unreasonable amount, but I am finally back! And what a great way to celebrate my new marriage to Mr. Buffalia (aka Hawk) then to jump right on in to the ACoH!

Say ohai to tennis player Marat Safin!

Now you might find yourself thinking “wait a minute, Buffalita – isn’t he retired??” Why yes, yes he is. The former number one tennis player in the world placed his racquet down in 2009. But that doesn’t mean I shouldn’t share this Russian beauty! We wouldn’t want to see such a specimen be forgotten after just two short years, would we?

Come on, tell me you don't love that hair. I dare you.

Marat has a pretty impressive track record – among 15 total singles titles, he won the US Open in 2000 (beating tennis great Pete Sampras), the Austrailian Open in 2005, and had an overall singles record of 421-266.  He also broke a record for most racquets broken in a year – 87! Boy doesn’t mess around!

Like I wouldn't end on a shirtless note

About buffalita

Formerly of Buffalo and Rochester and now of NYC, I am an extremely loyal Buffalo Bills and Sabres fan since birth. I *used* to support the Yankees, but Mr. Buffalita has since showed me the err of my ways and has converted me (almost fully) to a Mets fan. Come on, you think I would have had Mr. Met at our wedding otherwise? Feel free to drop me a line at buffalitanyc@gmail.com for story requests, tips, or photos you'd like to share!
