Hump Day Hottie: I Miss Hockey Edition

Because. I. Can.

I know baseball season is in full swing, and football is already on our brains, but I’m really missing hockey.  I’m constantly checking my calendar and figuring out my schedule around the upcoming NHL season.  I just can’t shake hockey.  I thought there has to be other people out there feeling my pain right now, so I’m going with a hockey themed post today.

Since the biggest NHL story line right now involves the validity of Ilya Kovalchuk’s contract, I decided to take a look at the free agent tracker and see who went where this summer.

So take a skate with me after the jump for some hockey hotties who were on the move this summer!

Dustin Boyd

After a mid-season trade from Calgary to Nashville, the Predators traded Dustin, along with Dan Ellis, to Montreal for Sergei Kostitsyn.

Matthew Lombardi

One of my personal favorites, Lombardi signed with the Predators after turning down a bigger deal with his former team, the Phoenix Coyotes.

Gregory Campbell

Greg was dealt to the Boston Bruins after spending the last six seasons with the Florida Panthers.  He’s also the son of league disciplinarian Colin Campbell.

Milan Jurcina

Juice was traded to Columbus from Washington in December and then traded back to Washington at the deadline. He was hurt when he was traded back to the Caps and never suited up the rest of the season. He signed with the Islanders back in July.

  1. I’m so ready for hockey season … You should have one of those fantasy leagues for hockey like ya’ll did for the WC.

  2. I just found this blog and it is fabulous – and I am definitely pining away for hockey season. I actually went to an event today (opening day for new ice rink) and Patrice Cormier was there; I see you’d named him a potential future hump day hottie in a past post. Yeah, I have to agree. Ahem. (I posted a pic I took today on my blog if you want to see…) ;)
