Hit and Run: There is Still Hope in Cleveland Today

LeBron_James23

Things got a little scary for Cleveland this week. Their series against the Magic took an ugly turn when they fell 3 games to 1. The Nuggets gave the Lakers a run for their money but with a 3-2 lead, it looks like LA will find themselves in the finals once again. It is déjà-vu all over again for the Stanley Cup Finals as the Penguins and Red Wings face off for the second time in as many years. And amidst all the playoff fun this week, there was some baseball thrown in there as well.

Cavaliers Magic Basketball

The city of Cleveland is used to it by now: Coming so close to winning it all, but never actually going all the way. I’m sure Cavs fans thought the same thing was happening once again when they were down 3-1 to Orlando. But in front a star-studded crowd, which included some Yankees, Big Ben, and Brady Quinn (yum!), the Cavs beat the Magic by 10 points to keep their championship dreams alive.

Despite losing two to the Nuggets, the Lakers seem poised to fight for the Championship once again. The Lakers and Nuggets face-off for game 6 tonight in Denver. If necessary, game 7 will be Sunday night in LA.

Last year at this time, we were gearing up for a Stanley Cup Final that featured Pittsburgh going up against Detroit. This year…it’s the same thing. The Red Wings are looking to repeat as champs while the Penguins are looking for revenge from last year’s results.

CUBS PHILLIES

When it comes to Chicago’s baseball teams, there is no shortage of characters. The Cubbies ace Carlos Zambrano is definitely one of the most theatrical. Big Z was thrown out of the Cubs Wednesday win over the Pirates. He proceeded to take out his frustrations on an unsuspecting Gatorade dispenser. He now has a 6-game suspension to deal with and will miss one start. Maybe this will teach him to keep his emotions in check…probably not.

  1. Gals may be interested in knowing that Grady Sizemore and Brady Quinn were both at the Cavs game Thursday night. And Braylon Edwards took BP with the Tribe Friday afternoon, so it’s possible he was there, too. Too bad you guys couldn’t have sent a photographer, huh?

‘Course I was only lookin’ at Grady…

There were some Yankees there, as well.
