The Virginia Tech Hokies brought down the #1 team in the land, upsetting the Wake Forest Deacons, 78-71. I’m sure there are very few things that feel better than beating a #1 team at their home. Malcolm Delaney scored 21 points and Jeff Allen added 16 in support of the Hokies.
Rex Ryan was introduced as the Jets’ new head coach, giving hope to all Jets fans that the Mad Scientist would take the Jets to the Super Bowl next year. Silly Jets fans. (I kid, Jets fans. Most of you are Mets fans also, so I love you guys.)
The Devils won their 5th in a row, beating the Canadiens 5-2. Scott Clemmensen, Martin Brodeur‘s fill-in, made 26 saves and is now 19-9. Johnny Oduya, Zach Parise and Paul Martin each had a goal and an assist in the victory.
Jeff Kent is calling it a career. The prospective Hall of Famer will be replaced by the yummy Blake DeWitt:
Kent who?
Andrew Bynum scored a career-high 42 points, along with 15 rebounds, to push the Lakers over the Clippers, 108-97. That guy, Kobe Bryant, also did okay, getting his second triple-double in 3 games.
If anyone’s looking for a job, the Yankees are looking for a receptionist!
Best part about Oduya’s goal: the asshole who chants “trade Oduya” had just opened his mouth.
Blake DeWitt: Making me glad I’ve got Dodgers tickets for one season and counting.
