Get Out There And Play

title

Winter sports, and the hotties that go with them, are often overlooked. So I thought I’d share just a few with you at this time of year.

We have two years to wait until the next Winter Olympics, which will be held in Vancouver, Canada. And two years ago, in Torino, Italy, we saw a lot about:

Bode Miller (who didn’t win in any of his events then, but who did grab his second overall World Cup title this year). With 31 World Cup victories, he is the most successful American alpine skier.

Mats Sundin (who plays for the Toronto Maple Leafs in the NHL) led Sweden to a told medal as captain.

What a smile!

Bjorn Lind (SWE) won Olympic gold medals in both the individual and team sprint cross-country skiing events in 2006.

And Brad Gushue, a curler from Paradise, Newfoundland and Labrador, represented Canada and took home gold.

I probably shouldn’t overlook snowboarding, but who wants to see a picture of Shaun White (not hot). Instead, here he is in action:

Whatever you think of these professionals, make sure you get out and enjoy the really fun winter sports that are great for making those family memories if you can – ice skating (preferably on a pond with fresh snow), snowshoeing, broomball, and boot hockey. Enjoy … and have a wonderful, safe holiday!
