Hump Day Hottie Hit and Run: Pro Bowl Edition

There are a number of different ways I could go with today’s Hit and Run. I could talk about Danny Haren’s “Hi, I’m a D-back now” press conference,

or The Great One’s Phoenix Coyotes clowning my Flyers, or Shaun White being cited for setting off a fire extinguisher in a hotel while he was drunk (and really, who among us hasn’t done that?) or The Rocket vehmently denying the claims in the Mitchell report that he used The Steroids, but since the 2008 Pro Bowl rosters were announced yesterday, let’s take an in-depth look at the hotties who’ll be getting a free trip to Hawaii this February.

The 2008 Pro Bowl roster includes some new faces and some old favorites.

NFC Studliness

Your starting NFC QB is none other than The Gunslinger himself, Brett Favre.

Starting at running back for the NFC is Purple Jesus himself, Adrian Peterson.

My favorite Augustinian, seen here with a pretty horsie, Brian Westbrook, will also be returning to Hawaii for his second Pro Bowl appearance.

Along with Terrell Owens and Donald Driver of the Packers, two of my fellow Pitt alums, Larry Fitzgerald of the Arizona Cardinals and Torry Holt of the St. Louis Rams (who was my downstairs neighbor in the Bouquet Gardens apartments and who insisted on playing The Chronic every morning at 5:30 a.m.) will take some receptions at wide reciever for the NFC.

Side note: Apparently, Larry and Torry don’t get photographed doing weird things, because the only photos I could find of them were game shots. Yawn.

On the other side of the ball, Kevin Williams and Pat Williams of the Vikings will mete out defensive justice like giant superheroes!

And in a move that surprised absolutely no one, Sean “Boom King” Taylor of the Redskins was posthumously voted a starter at free safety. It has not yet been announced how he will be honored at the Pro Bowl.

AFC Hotties

ON the AFC sideline, His Dreamboatiness (pictured here sharing a moment with His Holiness) Tom Brady, is your starting QB.

The Dreamboat has a number of excellent recievers to choose from including Starter Ladainian Tomlinson, Willie Parker of Pittsburgh, and my fantasy football beast, Joseph Addai of the Colts.

Tackling all comers is noted outdoorsman Matt Light of the Patriots.

Along with Asante Samuel of the Patriots, Denver Bronco Champ Bailey is all smiles.

Finally, Troy Polamalu of the Steelers is holding down strong safety. Glamour shot!

  1. Waitwaitwait a second. You post a picture of Joseph Addai, but leave out Freeway Willie Parker? What the hey? I realize he’s not the cutest kid on the block, but at least his head is round-ishly shaped, whereas I’m pretty sure Addai is actually a Duplo lego character.

And I think this is a more accurate portrayal of what Troy Polamalu represents these days:

  2. I wish I also had lived in the Bouquet Gardens complex, since I am 1) awake at 5:30 a.m. and 2) know all of the words to the Chronic. Please excuse me while I post a Missed Connection on Craigslist.

  3. I so thoroughly enjoyed the Mickey Mantle nicest booty in baseball awards, that I’d love to see a Walter Payton Nicest Booty in Football Awards, and I think Larry Fitzgerald is clearly top 10. Dayum.

  4. Brilliant HDH work, Clare.

I am so proud that Brett picture from my Hump Day post represents my dear Fav-ruh here. It’s poetic, somehow.

Side note: how funny was it during Danny Haren’s press conference when he forgot his kid’s birthday?

(and yay to chitown for remember the Mickey Mantle Awards!)

  5. Here’s to good old Bouquet Gardens…

Also, Clare, care to discuss the heinous beast that ate The Great One? Seriously, was he wearing a molester’s wig? WTF.
