And not only do you pitch the hell out of that ball game, you gave a completely charming interview to What’s-her-face (Texy told me her name is Tina, but I prefer what’s-her-face). This line made me tear up (in happiness at your achievement): “It’s amazing. That’s all I can say. I’m in a blur right now.” You recognized that you had to call your parents, and I swooned at that. Well, at that, and the adorable Texan accent. You are now the 17th pitcher in Red Sox history to throw a no-no, and the first rookie pitcher to do so.
Congrats, and I hope you party tonight till you forget your name. I recommend Patron.

ETA: I didn’t add this last night, because I wasn’t exactly sure of the quote. Then I lost track of time this morning between Mass, brunch, and what have you. But I wanted to post what Josh Beckett jokingly said after the game: “He did a lot better than Curt Schilling did. A lot better than Schilling.” Hilarious. (Becket was referring to Curt’s no-hit attempt earlier this year against the Oakland A’s.)

It seems like just a couple of weeks ago I was at Fenway watching him make his first major league start… OH WAIT, it WAS just two weeks ago. Holy cow, what an accomplishment for any pitcher, much less a kid rookie in just his second outing!

That kid is fucking amazing. I didn’t get to see the game (DAMN IT!), however, I saw it today on Sportscenter and my mouth was just hung open. My roommate kept looking at me and then at TV going “What’s a no-hitter?”
