Two weeks ago, I put out the call for help in figuring out who a spectacularly sexy unknown Red Sox hottie was. I mean, good NIGHT – does it get any hotter than this?
A knight in shining armor (namely, Elric) stepped up and guessed this could be Jacoby Ellsbury, Red Sox prospect extraordinaire. Jacoby did indeed turn out to be one smokin’ hottie- and we (OK, I) ran with it, and adopted him as a Ladies… mascot. However, it has come to my attention (through an anonymous commenter) that though Jacoby is indeed hot, he is not this particular unknown hottie.
So that means the Red Sox have not one, but TWO red hot prospects workin’ their way up the ranks. Suddenly, I feel a pull towards Fenway, I wonder why? And who exactly IS this unknown hottie?
Say hello to Kyle Jackson.
Kyle’s a 24 year-old right-handed, 6’3″ pitcher from the great state of New Hampshire (Litchfield, to be exact). He’s an Aries. His nickname is “Action” (as in “Action Jackson”) or “K-Jax”. His specialties are the curveball and the fastball, and this past year he added a change-up as his third pitch. He enjoys piña coladas and getting caught in the rain (I just know it). And he’s really hot.
Normally, I’m checkin’ out the guy in the uni. Not in this case.
In between seasons playing minor league ball for the AA-Portland Sea Dogs and fall ball for the Peoria Javelinas, Kyle is a pitching coach back at the NH Grizzlies AAU Baseball camp his parents run back in New Hampshire. So his whole family (including two brothers) are into baseball AND he likes to help kids learn how to play? Well that’s just plain cool.
Mom, uncle, Dad, HOT, uncle — so: no, no, no, HELL YES, no
The great thing is: Kyle was a huge Red Sox fan growing up as a kid, so playing in a Sox uniform is just about the best thing to ever happen to him. His first time to watch a game at Fenway was when he was 5 years old- and he had to save up boxtops from Frosted Flakes cereal to get the tickets. It was all downhill from there.
This boy was made to wear a baseball cap. Wowza.
Kyle attended spring training camp for the Sox this year- when the fateful “Unknown Hottie” photo was taken. He was given the #83 jersey- the highest number of everyone at camp, not something any aspiring big leaguer gets jazzed about. But Kyle took it in stride, and clearly looked gorgeous in the Boston red and blue. He was optioned down to AA to start the season, but remains on the Red Sox 40-Man roster– so he’s going to remain the property of Boston, for the near future at least.
He even wears his pants right- hallelujah!
With that tall frame, dark good looks and adorable smile (not to mention that great butt), I’m just sorry it took this long to discover him. But our unknown hottie is officially unknown no more- welcome, Kyle… we’re awfully glad to have you.
I love ur blog! Will definately be back!
I’m so embarrassed that my prospect identification skills turned out to be lacking. I’ll go commit ritual seppuku now.
But darn it, I’ve seen Kyle Jackson’s baseball cards from a year or two back. He looks like a goofball in them. How was I supposed to know that he’d develop a devastatingly disarming smile to go with his fastball/curveball combo?
I love the 5th picture – he looks so boyishly handsome.
Elric- you have nothing to be embarassed about. First of all, without you, we’d have no Jacoby. Second, without you at least hazarding a guess, we might never have gotten someone to speak up and figure out it was Kyle. So we wouldn’t have either hottie… you, sir, are to be commended.
And mets- that is a perfect description.
So Jacoby AND Kyle are playing for the Sea Dogs in Portland… anyone up for a road trip to Maine?
why are these guys always on the god damn red sox?
All the other teams need to step up their hottie farm systems. The Dbacks actually look to have put in a good effort on that, and the A’s can always be counted on to have hot farm kids… but everyone else really needs to get to work.
Socks with sandals? Honestly??
socks with sandels is okay in an athletic sense. He was probably just playing, and then took his cleats off and put the sandels on. That is perfectly ok. If there were a shot of him with socks and birkinstocks on, then we have a problem.
I think those are just flip-flops. And those are his game socks, and I bet the red shirt he wears under his jersey.
Taking off the jersey and pants and throwing on a pair of shorts and flipflops to go meet your parents after your team won the league championship is acceptable — wearing socks and sandals out in normal public is not.
Taking off the jersey and pants [snip] is acceptable.
Fixed.
I’ll agree with the farm system. If the Twins want to stay in it for the long-haul, I’m going to have to do some scouting of my own!
Oh my lord, this is the best Hump Day Hottie post ever. I’m feeling faint.
Clare- agreed.
CG- the Twins could coast on the hotness of Mauer alone for years.
I all of a sudden have an appreciation for the Red Sox.
Cool Red Sox Blog. Check out my sox blog.
