Last Night’s Action

It’s a good to be be Lazar Hayward right about now. He’s a member of the 16th ranked Marquette basketball team, a big man on campus, and scored a career high 18 points on the way to the Golden Eagles’ 22nd victory of the year. And he’s a cutie. And probably knows it. Those damn cocky freshman. Hayward help his team come back from an early nine point deficit to beat Villanova 80-67.

Other Top 25 action…

#6 Kansas beat Kansas State yet again, 71-62. Sherron Collins scored 20 as the Jayhawks beat the Wildcats at home for the 20th straight time.

#10 Pittsburgh won Jamie Dixon his 100th game, surviving a scare by Seton Hall, 71-68. Center Aaron Gray was out with an ankle injury, but Levance Fields picked up the slack by scoring 15 points. Levon Kendall added 14 points and eight rebounds.

Maybe A.J. Graves is finally feeling better. After a pretty lousy game against Southern Illinois, the Junior scored put up 20 as Butler beat Wisconsin-Green Bay 68-58. Green Bay lost its 11th straight against a Top-25 opponent.

  1. Ahh, Kansas- our perennial Big XII foe. The only reason I have any kind of affection for you is because you’re ahead of A&M in the rankings- and anyone that keeps the Aggies down makes me happy.
