Hump Day Hottie: Fantasy Hockey Edition

Bonus hottie!

Bonus Hottie!

Since I love hockey, it’s only natural that I have a fantasy hockey team.  This year I’m playing under the name “I Laich It!” for Brooks Laich.  Unfortunately, he doesn’t put up awesome fantasy stats so he’s still on waivers.  Anyways, I like to draft players that I like, and I usually like hot players.  So as I was perusing my roster and wondering what to post about this week, I thought to myself, “Self…you have a pretty hot roster.  Maybe you should share these hot boys with the Ladies… readers.”  So that is what I’m doing.

So follow me after the jump and check out my hot fantasy team!  I promise not to disappoint!

Hump Day Hottie: Andre Ethier

Ok, so the Dodgers are currently down 3-1 to the Phillies in the NLCS, and I’m afraid I won’t get to see Andre Ethier again until March.  So this post is basically happening to keep Andre’s hotness fresh in our memories.  Ahh, what a season we’ve had Andre.  Hopefully the boys in blue can pull out the win tonight so we can ogle Andre a wee bit longer. *le sigh*

So if you, like me, will miss seeing the pretty that is Mr. Ethier, take a trip with me after the jump.

Hump Day Hottie: Matthew Lombardi

Ladies, I’ve flashed a few hot pics of Mr. Lombardi before, but I’ve decided he needs his own post.  This one actually comes by request from a friend of mine who, while perusing some of my posts, pointed out that Matthew was way hot and should get his own post.

So check out more of this man’s hotness after the jump!

Whacko for Flacco!

So I was going to give this post the “Hump Day Hotties” tag, but I thought I might get some flack over it.  So instead, I’m just going to use this post to introduce you to Joe Flacco, quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens.  Joe has caused a hysteria in Baltimore.  See, we folks from Charm City don’t know what a real quarterback actually is. That is until Mr. Flacco arrived in town.

For years we have tried to find that “Franchise Quarterback,” but he never seemed to develop.  While I was partial to Kyle Boller (solely on looks, btw), others were calling for his head from the moment we drafted him.  Hell, we went a month during our Super Bowl season without scoring an offensive TD! And we won the Super Bowl with Trent Dilfer under center!  Even Disney acknowledges that Trent Dilfer sucks! Can you say “Defense,” much?

So needless to say we’re all pretty stoked that Flacco has taken the reigns of our offense.  I personally don’t think he’s bad to look at, either.  I think his Bert-esque eyebrows are what throw people off, but if he would just tweeze them up a little bit, he’d be a bonafide hottie.  I think he’s adorable, despite the brow problem.  I’m sucker for a guy with dimples!

Check out some adorable pictures of #5 after the jump!

Hump Day Hottie: NFL Coaches Edition

A preview of things to come?

A preview of things to come?

So we all know who the hot players are, but do you know who the hot coaches are?  With the new trend of hiring younger coaches, the NFL has provided us with a new crop of hotties.  Instead of the coaches reminding you of the old, creepy man who hangs around the neighborhood (Brad Childress, I’m looking at you!), now they’re more like the hot, 30-something dad that moved in down the street! Yippee!

Take a trip with me after the jump where we explore some hot NFL coaches!

Hump Day Hotties: AFC & NFC South

Some of us Ladies have been looking forward to football season, so I thought what better way to get everyone hyped than to feature a hottie from every NFL team.  Each week for the next four weeks, we’ll be featuring lesser-known hotties from an AFC and NFC division.

So far we have featured hotties from the AFC & NFC North, East and West. This week is our final installment.  So take the plunge, and follow me after the jump to get a peek at some hotties from the AFC and NFC South.

Hump Day Hotties: Tour de France

Well, I’m not a big cycling fan, but I figured there had to be hotties racing in this year’s Tour de France.  So, I went on a mini-mission to find some hot boys to share with you.  Did you know there are a lot of cyclists entered in this year’s race?  I decided to pick a few and let you be the judge.

Hop on your bike, and follow me after the jump!

Hump Day Hotties: The Call-Ups

So I know we all get excited when baseball season is underway.  We love watching our hotties play and our teams do well.  For me, when my beloved Orioles start to suck again, it can be hard to devote my time to following the team.  That is why I have come to love the mid-season call-up.  Trust me, I know who the hotties are on the team, but I’m curious about those boys in the minors.  I know names and who is supposed to be good, but I don’t necessarily know their faces.  So I always look forward to a new face in the clubhouse.

After the jump, I’ve hand selected some drool-worthy hotties. Don’t say I didn’t warn you!

Hump Day Hottie/Don’t Judge Me: AJ Burnett

Good morning.

*hides from all Mets fans, some Jays fans, plenty of Yankees fans*

(Incidentally, you don’t need a white horse to steer you back onto course.)

For each one of you that sees the “Read the rest of this entry” link here and doesn’t click on it, a child is taught that Saves are useful statistics and that Derek Jeter is worthy of this year’s All-Star Game start. (So that’s a maybe. But do you really want to risk it?)

Hump Day Hottie: Sidney Ponson

The Royals gave me a very happy St. Patrick’s Day by signing Sir Sidney Ponson (yes, Sir! He was knighted in his native Aruba). They were impressed with his showing for the Netherlands in the World Baseball Classic, and might now be putting him in the KC Opening Day rotation.Yes, please.

Grrr, baby!

Grrr, baby!

LOTS more after the jump.

Our Year End Hump Day Hottie Spectacular!

Chances are you’ll be reading this in 2009. That’s okay. It’s a holiday and you were preparing yourself for the New Year’s Eve celebrations. But if you are reading this in 2008 then let’s go through a review of what happened this year. Specifically what happened every Wednesday of this year. Yes, we’re going to be taking a look back at the Hump Day Hotties that have graced our blog in the ’08. Why? Because how could you not want to take a trip down memory lane and remember Ryan Lochte?

So let’s go back through the year that was and enjoy our hotties one more time before we sing “Auld Lang Syne.” And if you’re reading this in 2009, remember when Lochte was so smoking in 2008 he made the Ladies… HDH? Yeah, that was awesome.

Hump Day Hottie: Chris Paul

I have no idea why I’m on this NBA baller kick. But who cares when they’re really cute NBA ballers. I think I’ve said this before, but when Paul was at Wake Forest (for more than one year at that!) I hated him. Mostly because he was really good and played on a rival team, but the point is I didn’t like him. He also hit another players in the…man area. Way uncool. So when he finished his college career with an overtime lost (granted it was a great game) to West Virginia I was giddy in my hate.

Now, however, I really like Paul. He seems like a genuine good guy who loves basketball and Winston-Salem. And somehow through the hate I didn’t notice how hot he was. What a change in jersey can do. So I offer up to you the hotness that is CP3.

Hump Day Hottie: Chicago Bears

So, I’ve been quite the MIA lady for the past few weeks. I’ve been doing this, and this, and then I was at the rally for this guy, but I am back and looking to share the team who has been making me love them and hate them for the past few months. They are not only my team, but the favorite team of the president-elect. Bear down, Chicago Bears!

Hump Day Hottie: Dwayne Wade

Chitown Chick and I seriously debated about, if Barack Obama won the Presidential election, making him the HDH this week. We were both for it and at about 11:30 PM last night I was thinking about all the great Grant Park speech pictures I could put up here (Chitown Chick was actually there last night. So. Jealous.). And then I realize that while CtC and I would love to have an Obama HDH, not every one of our readers might like that. There’s a reason why some (ok, a lot) people don’t like a mixing of sports and politics. And in the end it might be best to not have our lovely little blog be overrun with a bunch comments that have nothing to do with hot athletes.

So I thought I would go with another hottie from Chicago, Dwayne Wade. I actually don’t have much to talk about D-Wade with today as the NBA season is really just getting underway and I’m still on a politics high, but I thought it’d be cool to spread the Chicago love. And he somehow hasn’t been our HDH yet so it’s time to change that.

Hump Day Hottie: Cole Hamels, Part 2

With the NLCS starting tomorrow I thought it was appropriate to feature a hottie on one of the last four teams in. Who better than Phillies ace Cole Hamels. I know, he’s been a HDH before. But that doesn’t mean he can’t be one again. And the way he’s been pitching (and looking hot along the way) he kinda deserves this. So we salute you Cole, for being our only two time hump day hottie. At least so far.

Hump Day Hottie: Some Dallas Cowboys

I grew up hating the Dallas Cowboys, and have always thought that was pretty normal. Around Nebraska, there aren’t many Cowboys fans at all, and no one ever had a problem with my hating. Except…well… my boyfriend loves that team the way I love my Royals, or the way Jim loves Pam, or the way Billy Butler loves Baconators. I’m trying to come to grips with this, and find something to like about his yucky team. Jason Witten is a good start, and there’s more after the jump.

Loooves me some Witten. Yum!

Hump Day Hottie: Johan Santana

Poor Mets fans. I just looked at the MLB standings today and saw that the Phillies are in the lead. When did that happen? Seriously, when did that happen? Wasn’t they leading like last week? Anyway, I’m sure the Metropolitans faithful aren’t going through the easiest of times right now, so for our own Metschick and all those who root for them, I give you Johan Santana. Maybe his hotness can put a smile on your face.

Hump Day Hottie: Willie Parker

During the Ladies… fantasy football draft, my computer went a little wonky, and froze right after my first pick. By the time I got everything working again, the computer had autodrafted Willie Parker for me. I didn’t want Willie Parker. No reason, really, it was more that I just wasn’t feelin’ it. Judging by his first two weeks (243 yds, 3 TDs), I was wrong. I’m sorry Willie. Please consider this collection of your hotness an official apology, and take me back with open arms.

Hump Day Hotties: Hotties of the Big 12

Note: This is La M. Alana, posting on behalf of our lovely Chitown Chick. She’s without internet at the moment, but she’ll be back later to edit in some more hotties. Enjoy!

Reading through much of the pre-season press for college football, the Big 12 did not receive nearly enough. People were high on the Big Ten, SEC and even ACC (ha!). Sure, Missouri (WOOT) and Oklahoma got some ink, but overall, the Big 12 was ignored. I am here to rectify that, and spread love from Ames all the way down to Austin. First stop, Columbia, Mo., home of Shiloh, the columns and a wonderful place known as Tropical Liquers.

Hump Day Hottie: US Open

With football about to get started this week and the Olympics winding down to a close (not to mention the continued play of baseball) you might not have realized that the last tennis major of the year has started. Yes, the US Open has begun (with a damn good first night match I might add) and with that the return of all the gorgeous men that play the sport. I’ve made known my love for Rafael Nadal and we’ve shared the hotness that is Novak Djokovic. I’m sure everyone here knows all about Andy Roddick and James Blake and Richard Gasquet (underrated hottie in my opinion). But how many of you know of Paul-Henri Mathieu?

That’s why this week’s HDH is going to profile the tennis players seeded lower than 10 at the US Open. There are some downright hot players out there that don’t have all the limelight on them. Shame really. Continue reading

Hump Day Hottie: Random Olympians

When deciding on a hump day hottie, I seriously had a hard time choosing. I said to myself, though kind of out loud, there are so many hot men in the Olympics! So today, there is no rhyme or reason. Some are winners, some are losers. The only connective thread among these men is that they are Olympians, and they are hot.

Hump Day Hottie: Roger Huerta

I have been looking forward to doing this particular Hump Day Hottie since I began writing for Ladies… Waiting for the right time to share this hot, hot man was killer. This is Roger “El Matador” Huerta, an a mixed martial artist in the lightweight division of the UFC. He will be fighting Kenny Florian next Saturday, and the winner most likely will get a title shot. Please, do enjoy.

In this fight, he is using the jumbotron to see where to properly land his punches. Swoon!

See why I like MMA?

Hump Day Hottie: Troy Dumais

The Olympics are a little over two weeks away. And while the event may turn out to be a complete disaster, the athletes going are making up for it. Especially those in events where little to nothing is being worn. And water is involved. Yeah, it makes up for it. One of the American Olympians is former Texas Longhorn Troy Dumais. This is his third games he’s attending. Congratulations Troy.

Hump Day Hottie: Rich Harden

When the Cubs traded for Rich Harden, I was overjoyed. The guy can pitch (if he stays healthy fingers crossed knock on wood spit twice) and Chicago got him without giving up a ton. Then I saw some pictures of him… how had I never noticed him before? Smokin’ hot, with a crooked smile. Welcome to Chicago, Rich. If you need a tour guide, a person to show you where to get the best pizza, hot dogs or a beer near the ballpark, please let me know. Might I add, the pinstripes look marvelous on you.

Hump Day Hottie: Joe Mauer

All of you will have to excuse me this week. I had to fight the urge to do another Rafael Nadal HDH. And I do mean fight. I was so close to just giving in and doing an All-Wimbledon version. But I didn’t because my obsession fandom should not be a burden to Ladies. Instead I decided to go with an All-Star we haven’t covered yet. You all saw Cinnamon Girl’s All-Star post showing that really hot wall picture of Joe Mauer. Well, I was hooked. So here’s much more from the Minnesota cutie.
