Well it’s time to say goodbye to the 2008-09 Washington Capitals. It was a disappointing end to an exciting season. After an insane circus of a series with the Pittsburgh Penguins, the Caps blew it in Game 7 with a 6-2 loss at home. I was there and still am getting over the crushing loss. So I was thinking, what’s a good way to get over a great season that ended in a not-so-great way? So I thought, I want to celebrate this team with a tribute…to their hotness!! I’ve been told by some of our ladies that’s it’s totally unfair that my Caps are so hot! So I’m sharing their hotness with you!

This was after Mike broke the record for goals by a defensemen in consecutive games. Its been my background picture since the day it happened.
So that was therapeutic! I love my hot boys, and I cannot wait until the season starts up again in October. As a side note, I also found another cure for the hockey hangover: Britney and the nearest gym. I seriously burned an insane amount of calories today on the arc trainer. I highly suggest it!

I still can’t believe it ended like that. I’m estatic that the Pens won, but I wish it could have been as epic as the rest of the series. But at least you have the fact that your guys are hotter than the Pens (maybe they have to make up for Ove’s looks?).

Devastated the boys are out for now but will still definitely keep watching the Penguins – not of course because I like them, but because Crosby is always so adorable like an annoyed little puppy
Laurie you are absolutely correct about Stecks! Hell I don’t think still photos do Mike Green justice either! I wanted to add more Caps to this post. I think Kozie is pretty cute for an old Russian guy, and Varly’s not bad on the eyes, either. Seriously, we are totally lucky to have such a hot team.

Sorry for you – it is hard to get over a loss like that when your team was good enough to win it all. Thanks for sharing your team with us – they are very hot!! And they have the oldest hottie in the league – Fedorov – not near as cute as he was but I’ll always love him!!
You know, I knew the Caps were a great team this year, but, as a fan, I just didn’t have that feeling that it was their year. There were too many things that were still keeping this team from being one of the elite. I definitely think if we keep our core group of guys intact, and now with Varly coming of age much sooner than we thought, we’ll win the Cup sooner rather than later. We’re still a season or two away from going all the way.
Call it fan instinct or whatever, but every year one of my teams has gone all the way, I’ve felt it the entire season. I knew we were going to lose, I just wasn’t prepared for losing the way we did. I almost would have preferred losing Game 6 in OT. That way I wouldn’t have gotten my hopes up.
