He’s MY Dreamboat

Brady Quinn had his starting NFL debut tonight.  He threw for 240 yards and 2 touchdowns.  It’s a shame Jay Cutler had to go and throw for 400+ yards, but I don’t care.  I thought Brady looked good out there and I hope to see him start from here on out for the Browns.

Hes so dreamy.

He's so dreamy.

My co-workers (all men tonight) were quite amused at my sighing and exclaiming over Brady Quinn.  My bar manager even said, “He looks like a steroid-fueld Legolas.”  I told him it was quite the one-two punch where he could insult Brady and also reveal his geek bravado.

His smile just lights up a room.

Mmmm... I wonder if I could ever see him in JUST eye black.

  1. That’s what I always chock it up to. Brady has never once set off my gaydar and I’ve been around him in person a couple times. The YMCA picture from his sister’s wedding? To me, that’s something goofy he’s doing at a family gathering. A lot of us have pictures like those. It doesn’t equal gay. Male sports fans just want any excuse to stick such a pretty man in the “gay box.”

  2. Mmmm…eye black. Love it! I hope they put that pesky Derek Anderson aside for good. Brady needs to stop holding the clipboard like a dumbass.

  3. I’m not sure he’s gay, and I shouldn’t say he is.

    But he’s very…comfortable? Gloriously unaware?

I know that I want him to be gay because I want there to be a gay athlete to challenge the average sports fan’s perspective; I think someone who happens to be attracted to men being their favorite athlete will shake up a lot of people, and I can’t see that as a bad thing.

And, yeah, there’s a little bit of insecurity and jealousy in male reactions, I’m sure, because, for an athlete, he’s ripped, and for a guy, he’s quite attractive. I have no problem admitting that I wouldn’t mind looking like Brady Quinn and am sure he’s got no problem picking up whichever gender he’s into.

But there’s something that sets my gaydar off. It might just mean my gaydar is off.

  4. And as far as the gay thing goes: everything’s based on male perception. So if a guy perceives another guy to be attractive, then that must mean the guy is trying to be attractive to other guys. Essentially, if a famous guy makes a dude feel kind of gay, then the famous guy must be gay.

  5. Essentially, if a famous guy makes a dude feel kind of gay, then the famous guy must be gay.

I see that, I just dont know how someone “feels” gay. I dont “feel” straight… I just really, really like men. Except for this one… Quinn just does nothing for me.

I’ll never believe that’s why anyone wants him to be gay. Why him, and not Adrian Peterson?

But anyway, I’ll appreciate your honesty. You’re okay, Rockabye!
