Hit & Run: Stop me if you’ve heard this one before…

Dunzo.

In case you hadn’t heard, Alex Rodriguez’s wife Cynthia filed for divorce in Miami yesterday. The reason behind the split? Apparently A-Rod is having “an affair of the heart” with the one and only Madonna. This “emotional abandonment” was the latest in a string of infidelities for the Yankee All Star, including a well publicised fling with a Canadian stripper last year (or maybe it was just a stripper and he took her to Canada? I don’t remember the specifics) But yeah, moral of the story: A-Rod = cheater. There were also rumors that Cynthia shacked up in Paris for a week or so with none other than Lenny Kravitz (WTF??). Turns out, while she may not have been bumping uglies with Lenny, she was giving A-Rod’s credit card quite the work out, to the tune of 100,000 bucks on various shopping excursions and spa treatments. Hit him where it hurts honey.

Did I mention she is also married?

HEADLINE OF THE WEEK (IMO)!

Shocking news really. A woman whose main goal in life is to bed and wed footballers shacked up with A DIFFERENT player before moving on to C-Ron? I can hardly believe it! I thought she came to him all virginy pure and whatnot. But I must say I do love British tabloids. American ones aren’t nearly as creative with their titles. Oh and the “Ram” in question is Sergio Ramos, who plays for Real Madrid. I wonder if Ronnie is re-thinking his desire to move there knowing that Nereida is going to be in such close proximity to one of her (many) former lovers… Not that that is really an issue at this point. Manchester United has made it pretty clear he is not for sale.

In basketball news, the Orlando summer league is underway. Last night the Chicago Bulls took on the Miami Heat, showcasing for the first time a match-up between the number 1 and number 2 draft picks of this year’s lottery. Who would come out on top? Would Derrick Rose show the nation why he deserved to be the number 1 pick? Or would Michael Beasely make the Bulls rue the day they passed him over? While the Bulls may still be happy with their pick, Beasely showed up big time for the Heat scoring 28 points in only 23 minutes of play. The Heat went on to win 94-70. Rose had a decent game with 10pts, 4 assists and 5 turnovers. I think the Rookie curve is a little harder for point guards. They have to learn how to run the floor at the pro level, whereas a small forward like Beasely (is he playing power?) just has to get the ball dished to him or create his own shots. My fave part though, is that at one point Beasely was being guarded by Joakim Noah (who I despise) and the 6’11” Noah was helpless to stop the 6’7” Beasely. Muahahaha. Perhaps he should try some more wandering around with an open container of alcohol. Maybe that will help his game?

On a final note, nom nom nom. Ryan Lochte has jumped out of the pool and right into my heart. He was featured as our Hump-day Hottie last week, and I just couldn’t resist posting another picture of him here. He is beauty. I even like the longish hair on him. Ryan is officially on the U.S. Olympic team swimming the 200 and 400 individual medley as well as the 200 back. He’ll probably also be on a relay or two as well. That means, come August 8th, we will have two weeks of his delciousness being scantily clad and all over the news and our tv sets. I can’t wait!

  1. As much as I love Joakim, I have to say, a little embarrassment at someone else’s hands is good for him.

  2. I think Joakim embarrassment at anyones hands is fine by me! I just remember during Florida’s second title run, there was a this interview with him and hows he’s really 7’0” he just doesn’t like to list it, he likes people to think hes shorter or something. And so if he’s really 7′ and Beasely is only 6’7” (6’8” in shoes) he’s got a lot of height on him and still couldn’t contain the Beast!

    Loves it.

  3. It’s amazing how Nereida has come in and made just about every other WAG in the UK pretty much irrelevant, isn’t it? And ‘bammed’? Sounds violent.

I don’t think I’ll ever tire of seeing that Lochte fellow topless. He could do without that necklace though and those lime-green undies are curious. Do they have polka dots on them or am I seeing things?
