The NY Post and Daily News Will Come Up With Something Catchier

Congrats to the New York Giants and their fans. In what’s been an insane season for the Giants, from their 0-2 start to their improbable victory over the Packers at Lambeau Field (where, you know, it was rilly, rilly cold!), they’re now one win away from an NFL title.

It seems like the theme for the Giants this year was redemption. There were players that were redeeming themselves all season long, and there were players redeeming themselves from the field goal they just missed. Hell, some players were redeeming their family names, showing the world why they’re worthy of playing on that field.

All I know is that it’s been a fantastic ride so far. One more win!

I didn’t even see this play – I was in my car on my way home from some friends’ house – but when Tynes finally got it between the posts, I cheered loudly. Amazing moment.

Finally!

He even cheers like a dork.

Hug it up!

Eli, you’re a grown ass man. You should not let another man ruffle your hair.

Look at Toomer, holding onto something. Didn’t see much of that last night.

I love this picture – the anticipation is killing me.

“Love me, Daddy.”

The agony of defeat.

  1. Oh, my god, yes it was! I couldn’t even gather my thoughts enough to write substantively about the game.

But I did watch most of it standing up and pacing around the living room.

  2. C’mon now – Toomer made 2 HUGE catches last night. The one where he managed to get the tips of both feet down along the sideline was big momentum-builder.

    SUPER BOWL, BABY!

  3. Awesome game. I felt good about the Giants chances when I saw that rugged Wrangler man Brett was sporting some sort of hat/neck scarf thing and little ole Eli went just with long sleeves.

  4. Gradavid – He wasn’t there because he didn’t want to jinx him; Eli threw multiple INT’s the last time he went. Now the question is will he avoid the SB as well?

undergroundbto – Sure, but Toomer’s first drop was so epicly bad that it prevented the memory of all his following catches.

  5. I need to ask.

Is “Favre” pronounced “Fahv”? It sure doesn’t look like “Farve”, which is how I’ve heard it said, but the v comes before the r…

  6. LOL – I was thinking that same thing about the Bret phonics. The Fox Sports team deserves hazard pay…I thought Jimmy’s cheeks were going to explode. Lose the headband and put on a HAT. I really don’t think hat hair matters in weather like that but the modified Bazooka Joe look killed me.
I wanted New England and Giants – YEAH! Great game.

BTO – you’ve know me long enough to know that I say (practically) nothing seriously.

    IT’S NOT A TOOMER!!!!

It’s actually Tyree in that pic.

Whoops – that’s what I get for skimming captions.

    That is correct.

  8. As a Packer fan let me congratulate the Giants on a terrific game. We really thought it was ours to lose and we did not lose it, you WON it. Take it to the bank and hopefully we can make another run at it next year and give Favre one more Championship before he retires.

  9. metsy – well, Toomer has been so maligned (see what I did there? maligned? benign? Toomer? tumor?) that I just had to stick up for the poor boy for those who don’t know your sense of humor. (humor? tumor? I’m on a roll!)
