Hit & Run: Pandemonium in Piscataway, Part 2!

RU won! RU won!

I don’t think I can form more coherent sentences than that right now. This was a thrilling victory for my Knights, and a game that I wish I had DVR’ed. The tricks, the fake field goal attempts, Ray Rice – it was perfect. And – David Wright was there!
It appears that the special teams do know how to do their jobs. And they definitely did that in last night’s game. They shined with their work, even if they did have two muffed punts (which are forgiven, but not forgotten – work on it, boys!). Alright, you can get all your other analysis elsewhere, because my ADD is telling me to move onto the pics of the game:

I love trick plays – LOVE! So I was delighted to see the trickery out in full force last night.

So high…

I wish Schiano would get up in Mike Teel’s face like this sometimes. I’m sorry, I have an irrational hate for Mike Teel.

Ray Rice is a god. He can run through anything. Including a Bull.

Too bad, hon. You can’t do it all (he was the team’s leading rusher last night with 58 yards.)

High fives all round!

Over in baseball, the Red Sox won, 7-1, and are sending the Series back to Boston. Texas Gal has some goodies in store for us, but I just wanted to share some pics (of course):

I’ll take the GM on the left, please.

Beckett, coming up Aces for the BoSox

I love this pic of Lowell. It looks like he’s about to do a magic trick.

“But… you told me the Fruit Roll Ups would be in the clubhouse! They weren’t THERE!”

“Yeah, I can a pull a rabbit out of my hat. You should see what Beckett can pull out of his cup.”

Hugsies, after the win.

After 12 years on the job, Joe Torre is no longer the manager of the New York Yankees. I’m sure you’re as tired of this story already as I am, but I wanted to post this picture, mainly because I’d never seen Torre in regular clothes – only in the uniform or a suit. He looks so different. And – he has a man purse! Is that a man purse? Alright, I need sleep.

  1. “Yeah, I can a pull a rabbit out of my hat. You should see what Beckett can pull out of his cup.”

OMG! F-ing hilarious!!! Metsy, you are a comedic genious. :)

  2. Thank you Metsy! I knew you guys would come through.

I never realized how old Joe Torre looks. And creepy. I guess working for the Boss will do that to you over the years.

  3. Why is Joe walking through the flower box? That’s just rude.
A few more points: Matt Grothe is fug, Mike Teel sucks, I love Kenny Britt, USF was Ov-er-ra-ted, and it was definitely the correct choice to watch RU instead of that spectacle that took place at the Wachovia Center.

  4. Theo, yes! Beckett, no! He is FUG! His cheeks look like they were stung by bees and his personality makes Bobby Knight seem cuddly in comparison.

  5. thistlewarrior: I have to thank Mike Lowell for the set up. I love that picture where it looks like he’s about to perform a trick or tell a ghost story or something.

Pam: I thought Grothe was cute. Then I saw him without his helmet. Not so much.

  6. Pam/Shorty Says: Why is Joe walking through the flower box?

Answer: He’s getting a head start on pushing up the daisies.

Thank you, I’ll be here all week.

  7. Congrats Metschick! We watched some of that game last night and I rooted for Rutgers for you.

Pam: Sorry about the Devils. Those Flyers are only good this year because they got all of my Predators, grrrr.

  8. “Damnit, Martha! Those kids are on the lawn again!”

“Now Henry, calm down. Just call the nice young men at the NCAA and they’ll write them another fine…”

  9. I love aerial shots of fans rushing the field. It looks so cool.

They’ve spent rather large amounts of airtime on ESPN this afternoon talking about how amazing Josh Beckett is in the postseason.

  11. I don’t think it’s irrational to hate Mike Teel. Okay, hate is strong, but seriously, as improved as he is this year, I’ve still got some big doubts on his talent. Did you attend the Louisville game last year? Only RU game I’ve ever been, and probably hard to compare. Rushing the field on that one was nearly deadly for a lot of people near me. Also, had this blog been posted today, I would have thought it was about my collision with a Mexican kid on my bike. His spin move was just not that good.
