Thursday’s Hottie Hit n Run

NBA preseason has started and I have suddenly found myself a New Orleans Hornets fan. How is that, you ask? Because one of My Iowa Hotties, Adam Haluska, was a second-round draft pick for the Hornets. In their first preseason game on Tuesday night, Adam came in for 24 minutes, went 5 for 9 for 12 points, 1 rebound, 1 steal and 1 block. Yahoo! had this to say:

Chandler’s two free throws capped a run of nine straight points to get New Orleans within 54-49, and the comeback was completed when second-round pick Adam Haluska hit back-to-back jumpers to start the fourth quarter to tie it at 70.

Way to go Adam! The following pics were the only ones of him so far as a Hornet, so I have included a third one that shows his cutie face. Yay! [Hawkeye to Hornet, Woot!]

Heeeeeeeee!

In NFL news, Old Man Hottie Vinny Testaverde has been signed not by The Buzzsaw That Is The Arizona Cardinals, but by the Carolina Panthers, as a back-up for David Carr now that Jake Delhomme has gone down for the season with an injury. In an interesting bit of trivia, Vinnie Testaverde won the Heisman the same year his teammate Dwayne Jarrett was born. HEE! (That’s 1986, for those of you playing at home.) In NHL action, Newbie Hottie Brian Elliott got his goalie debut last night. He stopped 27 shots between the pipes. He said that “from age 7, this has been my goal.” (Ba dump ching). The Ottawa Senators got all the way to the Stanley Cup Finals last year, only to lose to Anaheim, but are off to a great start this season. [Goalie Nets Himself a Great Win]

  1. I have been stalking your blog for awhile now. It is the highlight of my day! And to find another Hawkeye fan is just icing on the cake! Thanks and keep it up – makes my day!

  2. This is what happens when I blog late at night and cannot be online all morning. Damn. Sorry Grimey.

Metsy, I think that picture is ADORABLE.

Pam, I like his shorter hair too.

  3. I’m a sucker for short hair/buzz cuts. I’m always happy to see the older college players (read: players that actually stay four years) make it in the NBA. Go Adam.

  4. Brian Elliott is hot, smart, and does a killer moose call. It brings a tear to my eye to see him make the A-list of Hotties by being on Ladies…
