Hump Day Hottie: David Carr

What’s this? A Hump Day Hottie that’s NOT a baseball player? I know- even I’m shocked! I was feeling a bit guilty about overloading the Wednesday posts with baseball lookers. OK, I wasn’t feeling the slightest bit guilty at all- but I did want to celebrate the start of the NFL season tomorrow with a little somethin’-somethin’ for the football fans around here.

And what a somethin’-somethin’, indeed. Hello, David Carr.

You may have been unceremoniously dumped by the Texans, but the Carolina Panthers have clearly proven they appreciate hotness (Jake Delhomme, anyone?) so you’ll be better off with them — and what the hell do the Texans know about football anyway? (answer: not a damn thing) I think we’ll all be just as happy to see him in Panther blue (aqua? turquoise? teal?) this fall…

Lots more David Carr loveliness after the jump.

About Texas Gal

Pitched four years for the Philadelphia Athletics, and then played shortstop for seven years for the Montreal Expos. Taught Rickey Henderson to steal a base. Taught Nolan Ryan to throw a punch. Taught Mickey Mantle to drink a beer. Threw one seven-hitter and seven no-hitters. Wonderboy was my creation, and first Jobu shrine was in my locker. Often called "the next Dustin Pedroia". Always wear high socks and eyeblack. Prefer to slide headfirst.

  1. He is hotness personified! Uber-hot. I can’t decide whether I like the long or short hair better…either works for me.

  2. Everyone saw the biceps, right? And those calf muscles? And the forearms- JESUS, the forearms!

And of course I had to sneak in two baseball pictures right in the middle.

His hair now (the redshirt picture was taken at Carolina camp) is kind of Brady-Quinn-before-the-buzz-esque (albeit a much nicer cut) – and I don’t mind it… but I love it short.

  3. OH YES. Nice finds with all the tongue-sticking-out-in-concentration pictures!

Texas Gal, I’m glad you snuck those en-baseballed pictures in. I get angry and bitter every September when football steals baseball’s thunder. It’s kind of irrational, because I like football. But baseball is my Most Favored Sport.

  4. Yum a dum dum.
He may not be playing for the Texans anymore, but he did look pretty damn tasty in the baseball gear.
Maybe the Astros could use him…

  5. He’s a nine. I’m deducting a point because he has really, really bad hair. Give him salt-and-pepper hair, though, and he’s a dead ringer for Ina Garten’s smoking-hot gay buddy TR, who shows up from time to time on Barefoot Contessa.

  6. shut the hell up referencing Ina Garten!

    i used to hate her

but then i watched her “behind the music”-esque special on food network and fell in love with her

(and my sister’s bf pissed next to Ina’s hubby, jeffrey, at the movies once. he probably had to expel that good cornish game hen and 3 fingers of glen livet that she prepares for him every friday afternoon)

  7. My roommate just gave me the strangest look as I just had a seizure in her chair and screamed “OH SWEET JESUS!” while staring at the computer.

In other words, I want to wrap my legs around his face.

  8. “…and like all other good South Texas athletes (i.e. Vince Young)…”

I’m sorry, but on what planet is Houston “South Texas”?! South Texas is south of San Antonio. This is an established fact. Houston is east or southeast. And considering VY is from Houston and Carr played in Houston, neither has any connection to South Texas!

And Carr is a wuss who rolled up into a ball at the slightest provocation (half of his sacks last season were his fault not the O-line, who played great for Sage Rosenfels). Don’t believe that he’s anything more than eye candy, Ladies…

  9. I’m not a football girl at all, but I can’t stop (being completely shallow and) coming into this post and staring at the pretty.

  10. I think my favorite pictures might be the ones where he’s doubled over with laughter while stretching- especially the second one.

And take a gander at the size of those feet…

  11. “Sweetie, there’s a blog post here that’s nothing but pictures of David Carr…”
Ladies, you have never seen a gay man move so fast.

I miss David, but so long as Schaub keeps the helmet on I can just fantasize it’s still Carr playing.

  12. I agree… he’s definitely hot. Too bad for all of us he got married when he was 19, haha, I read it in the August 19 edition of SI.

  13. Awww ladies you know the way to my heart! I lived in Fresno at the time he played at Fresno State and got to see him in person- I didn’t think it was possible, but he was even more beautiful in person. I have been in love since.

  14. i love the fact david carr plays for the panthers now! he is such a freakin’ dreamboat … the face, the guns, the ass … hmmmmm. nice addition to football’s eye candy gallery, right up there with tom brady.
