How do I know Will is nerd? He got 1138 votes.
June 9, 2007 at 11:44 pm
@SW How do you know he’s a nerd? He entered a Hot Blogger Bracket as a number one seed.
June 9, 2007 at 11:50 pm
Sorry to be losing Vanilla.
Sorry to be losing friend-of-the-Ladies 289.
SORRIER TO BE LOSING RED SOX STATS GUY. Democracy sucks.
June 9, 2007 at 11:52 pm
Red Sox guy - I know I posted this on your blog already, but I am sorry that the Deadspin post pushed everything the other way.
Upside, you still have cute kid.
June 9, 2007 at 11:53 pm
Yeah, he totally had this. I posit that Shanoff was threatened by you.
June 9, 2007 at 11:59 pm
Thanks Holly.
June 10, 2007 at 12:05 am
Pete Holiday vs. McBain — was that the tightest finish or what?
We’re going to miss you too, Yostal.
June 10, 2007 at 12:10 am
So would this be a -157 for suss?
June 10, 2007 at 12:13 am
I wasted my whole evening staring at that darn poll screen, refreshing every 2-3 minutes, IMing everyone I know, and dreading that McBain was going to come up with votes at the last minute.
Productivity = 0.
June 10, 2007 at 12:16 am
I wasn’t the biggest loser! I’m mollified!
June 10, 2007 at 12:18 am
Pete - That is impressive.
McBain… that is the hardest one for me to say goodbye to. I hate the Flyers, but really, he runs a good site.
Really, all in all, I am sad anyone had to loose. And that is not just the v&t + wine talking.

We now join HG’s press conference live in progress… “well, seedings dont really mean anything..every team here believes they can win and CDB is a really talented team..we were fortunate to get out to a big lead in the first half and then just keep running our sets and eventually get the victory..but CDB, man they’re tough man.. they never stop playing, fighting..it was a great contest between two teams that wanted to play in the next round. I have nothing but good things to say about that team from Michigan.. I know we got some things to work on if we plan on sticking around but all in all I’m happy to be advancing and I am glad that…” Ok welcome back to the studio.. As you heard HG has the utmost respect for his opponent, but it’s gonna be interesting to see if he can build on this momentum moving forward. Your thoughts Jay?
June 10, 2007 at 12:38 am
Hmm… the word I had been tossing around was “pathetic”… but I’ll take “impressive”.
June 10, 2007 at 12:48 am
HG: I’m shocked that you didn’t throw in a post game “I just wanna thank God, because with out God none of us would be here.”
June 10, 2007 at 12:52 am
How did 289 go down?!?! I bought votes damit!
June 10, 2007 at 12:55 am
Well, it’s been really, ya’ll. Thought I had a real shot, but in retrospect, writing about a specific team or two probably brought me down.
June 10, 2007 at 1:03 am
@ mike white.. I did but they cut in after i said it
June 10, 2007 at 3:55 am
All we all need is a radio show and we’ll all stand a chance.
June 10, 2007 at 9:18 am
Thanks for the kind words. I had fun and finally had the motivation to finally kill Red Sox Stats Guy and roll out my new blog, The Hub.
June 10, 2007 at 11:35 am
Dan L.: If it’s any consolation, you have me very nervous for the last 48 hours. We’ve been pretty much 1:1 the whole time. Good round.
Whew. Who’s next?
June 10, 2007 at 12:21 pm
VICTORY!
June 10, 2007 at 2:04 pm
For what it’s worth, this is how the bracketology from the first round broke down.
June 10, 2007 at 2:52 pm
tkk - ima call you lunardi
June 10, 2007 at 3:39 pm
Heartbreaking loss, McBain. The UD student body should be ashamed of themselves.
June 10, 2007 at 4:21 pm
So not only did I lose by the worst margin of anyone in this entire bracket, but nobody bit on my “Hack the Vote, Win a Fathead” offer. I can’t even cheat properly.
*Sigh*
Where’s my wooden spoon?
June 10, 2007 at 4:32 pm
What an incredible bracket - every contest got over 1000 votes, including the positively obscene 2326 between 289 and the state of Kentucky. Apparently everyone with internet access in the entire Commonwealth voted.
June 10, 2007 at 5:21 pm
Yeah, I think things between Leitch and Kentucky could get rrrreal interesting before this is over.
June 10, 2007 at 8:54 pm
Oh….you’re already counting me out against William, Holly? I see how it is. Don’t think I don’t have a few tricks up my sleeve.
June 10, 2007 at 10:44 pm
Actually, they’ll meet earlier than that….and seriously, from your numbers, you are NOT to be trifled with, AA. Nice work.
June 10, 2007 at 11:03 pm
I’m actually terrified of a complete bracket re-seeding, and I somehow face Kentucky. Well you know what Kentucky??? You can call be UAB.
June 10, 2007 at 11:40 pm
be=me
June 10, 2007 at 11:43 pm
AA is the juggernaut, biiiitch!
June 10, 2007 at 11:44 pm
Not that I’m calling anyone who might run this site biiiitch, you understand. It’s just the catchphrase. [/unstab]
June 11, 2007 at 2:07 pm
Will nor anyone else really stands against a chance against the power of the commonwealth.
June 11, 2007 at 2:08 pm
please omit the first “against” in the previous post…im going to go vote for Matt again.
