Hit & Run – Monday Madness

* Brett Favre may look hot in football pants- but I’m betting he looks just as hot in a baseball uni. OK, so technically it’s a softball uni- but still… I get to ogle Brett’s legs in shorts AND help charity at the same time! [It’s a win-win situation]

* Favre’s doppleganger, Brewers hottie Geoff Jenkins, helped drive a stake through the heart of my Houston Astros on Sunday with a homerun. [It’s hard to be angry when he’s just so hot]

* New to the big show, hottie Hunter Pence got called up from Triple-A to claim a starting CF spot on the Astros roster this weekend just in time to get some great hits, a fabulous face-first slide… and to be part of a win and a loss to the Brewers. [Better get used to that losing feeling, Hunter]

* Texans turned Carolina QB David Carr still supports the Houston baseball boys, and was at the Astros game on Saturday to see Hunter’s premiere… as a guest of George HW Bush. [Wonder what conversation those two had during the game]

* Todd Walker, last seen being spurned by the evil Padres, has taken up the company line in Oakland quickly, and is now apparently the A’s number one cheerleader. I think he’s just happy to finally claim his rightful slot on the hottest roster in baseball. [Todd Walker + A’s = Tru Luv 4ever]

About Texas Gal

Pitched four years for the Philadelphia Athletics, and then played shortstop for seven years for the Montreal Expos. Taught Rickey Henderson to steal a base. Taught Nolan Ryan to throw a punch. Taught Mickey Mantle to drink a beer. Threw one seven-hitter and seven no-hitters. Wonderboy was my creation, and first Jobu shrine was in my locker. Often called "the next Dustin Pedroia". Always wear high socks and eyeblack. Prefer to slide headfirst.

  1. Thing about Geoff Jenkins, though… Back in eleventh grade, I recall hearing rumours of the recently-promoted-from-AAA Jenks dating one of my junior class peers. I have no other evidence to this claim, of course. But it’s something to consider, in evaluating one’s hotness. He likes ‘em a little young — could be trouble.

  2. Lalalalalala – I can’t hear you Disco Stu. And he’s married now, anyway- so isn’t is a moot point? Because everyone know ballplayers turn faithful once wed.

  3. Ah, Hunter Pence. The hustle of Wily Tavares, the contact hitting we were promised would come with Chris Burke, and the stunning good looks of a young Craig Biggio. I hope he’s the catalyst to get the Big Puma out of the woods.

Fun Fact: George HW Bush is really tall!

  4. I thought the picture of him kissing the ball that he got his first major league hit off of was cute.

Also, for the record: HELL YES, HELL YES, HELL YES, HELL YES, NO WAY IN HELL, HELL YES

  5. George 41 is only 6’2″, dude. Not small certainly — & certainly, much taller than his namesake son (who has the distinction, if I’m not mistaken, of being the only U.S. President to win twice, each time against a candidate taller than he) — but nothing for Lady Andrea to write home about. I mean, come on…

  6. Not only is Todd Walker eye candy (according to the Ladies) but he is also a really nice charitable guy. In my hometown of Shreveport, La, where Todd is from, he always has an FCA golf tournament as well as hosting a skills clinic for underprivileged kids. He really does a tremendous job giving back.

  7. That is great info, Radioman, thank you. I heard him speak for the first time not that long ago (at his LSU Hall of Fame induction), and was pleasantly surprised to hear how much of his Louisiana accent he has maintained. Even better to find out he still gives back to the community.
