Thursday’s Hottie Hit n Run

San Diego Padres’ Hottie Jake Peavy struck-out a personal best 16 batters last night in San Diego’s loss to Arizona last night. He was 4 shy of the record for total strikeouts in a 9-inning game. At one point, he fanned 9 in a row, which was also just one strikout away from tying Tom Seaver’s record for consecutive Ks. It was an outstanding outing for Peavy, only to have it be for naught when they gave up a two-run homer in the 9th inning. Poor Jake Peavy. Do you need somebody to talk to? How about a massage for your pitching arm? Lemme know. [Peavy Amazing; Bullpen not so much]

Speedy special teams Hottie Dante Hall is trading in his White n Red for Blue n Gold. No, he’s not going back to college at Notre Dame, he’s been traded to the St. Louis Rams for a 5th round draft pick in the upcoming NFL draft. Hall is tied for 3rd all-time in number of punts/kickoffs returned for TDs at 11. He’s tied for 1st all-time for kickoffs returned for touchdowns at 6, so perhaps he can break some records in the Edward Jones Dome [Kick Returner Extraordinaire Hits I-70]

Buffalo Sabres left wing hottie Thomas Vanek scored two goals in the second period of last night’s Sabres’ 5-2 win over the Rangers. It was only game 1 of their Eastern Conference semifinal, but the Sabres looking convincingly like the better team. Their goalie, Ryan Miller, notched 32 saves and Jason Pominville and Drew Stafford also scored for the Sabres, so the scoring was nicely dispersed amongst the team. Mmmmm, look at that picture. Anybody for some sabre rattling? [Scruffy Vanek Shows the Rangers Who’s Boss]

Pittsburgh Pirate (and Andrea’s Deadspin Fantasy League) hottie Adam LaRoche had 16th-inning heroics last night, shooting a single into left field to beat the Houston Astros 4-3, after the Buccaneers blew a two-run lead in the 9th inning. LaRoche had previously been batting .096 on the season. For those of you who don’t follow baseball, that’s really, really bad. I think my 14 year-old cousin Michael could have a better batting average than that and he’s partially blind. [Adam LARRRRRoche Steps Up in His 12th At-Bat of the Night]

  1. TSW, I was going to use Mendoza line, but I figured that wouldn’t be very clear for the “not familiar with baseball” folks, so I went with “really, really bad.” : )

  2. Thomas Vanek – cute AND keeping me alive in my playoff pool. Although when I think Buffalo Sabres and hotness it’s not Vanek who comes to mind.

  3. Please send me a picture, or prove you are not a dude, O writer of the blogs.. Texas women, sorry TexasGal, typically do not know football, or great asses(except George Bush), and I need a face to go with my dream girl!!! This is my unofficial marriage proposal. We can elope.
